Traditional Foods
Oneida, WI

Sugar Bear Smith has worked for the Oneida Nation in the area of traditional foods and herbs, and has reintroduced several varieties of heirloom beans to the Oneida people. His extensive knowledge of traditional and modern agriculture is evident in his presentations. Sugar Bear also has an interest in food's ceremonial and healing powers. He will discuss and display indigenous, traditional foods and organic crops and tell how they fit into Oneida culture and traditional way of life.
